I am a New-York-State-licensed clinical psychologist, with a private practice located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
In addition to comprehensive training and experience in psychodynamic (relational) psychotherapy, I have specialized training or expertise in the following:

Medical illness and psychological well-being:
My research has focused on medical illness and its impact on the emotional well-being and functioning of patients and their families. At this time of heightened stress a professional can be an asset in the fight against cancer, HIV, MS and other debilitating or life-threatening illnesses.
Motivational Interviewing:
A specialized technique to help effect change when anxiety or other factors are preventing it.
Corporate/Professional:
I have an extensive corporate background so am uniquely able to help clients work through professional problems in both a work and interpersonal context. In additional to working with individuals, I offer workshops on identifying and managing anxiety and depression in the workplace and during career transitions. Interpersonal relationships and structural organization in the workplace is also a focus.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy:
Training at the CBT Institute of America in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression.
Mentalization-Based Therapy:
A manualized treatment useful in the treatment of personality disorders. Mentalizing is the process by which we make sense of each other and ourselves and come to understand the underlying dynamics in our relationships.
Couples Therapy:
Specialized training and supervision in Couples and Family Therapy.
I also have an extensive referral network and am able to refer patients for specialized treatment of issues that arise, including psychopharmacology, chronic pain and substance abuse.
